Long Time

Haven't had the time or the inclination to write lately, but figured I should take a few minutes to catch up, to log history.

New roomy is working out well. She works 12-hour shifts, so she's gone for long blocks during the day. And then I'm not home much, either, so she gets lots of home alone time, too. It's nice to have some company, and it's also nice to have someone here watching the house while I'm gone at work or for two or three days at a time while I'm off galavanting around.

Things with Rover still going. Things with him and Lips still "unresolved" except that they have talked about going their own separate ways and have not spoken to one another very much in the last several weeks. He and I have had some serious discussions, but he remains unwilling to break things off with her or to make any commitment to me. I continue to "date," looking occasionally and not too very seriously for someone else, someone with whom things are less complicated. Rover knows. He knows he can ask nothing else of me.

Spent a great weekend in Las Vegas with the girls from the office. Had a marvelous time. Great to get away. Stayed up all night both nights. Sat by the pool and just goofed off. Didn't gamble even a quarter.

Haven't spoken to RacerEx since the Julie incident. Don't have any plans to speak to him again. I will be polite if I see him at work or in town, but I am truly finished with him. It is unfortunate that it came to a head the way it did, but I suppose it needed to happen in order for me to move on from him. I guess something like that will happen with Rover when it is time....or not. Who knows.

So things are fine.

I pulled my waiver at work and may start going out as an officer on seniority basis if they ever get down to me. It will be interesting and scary. It is frightening to have other people's lives in my charge.

But I am going to do it. I have to start.
